Child Passport Expiring before Visa Extension Expiry Date

Hi,

I need to apply for me and my family Visa extension for 1 more year in the month of Nov 2018 as our Visa is getting expired in Dec 2018.

My child passport will get expired in the month of April 2019.

My question is do I need to get his passport renewed prior to going for Visa extension or Visa will be stamped for 1 year (which will end in Dec 2019) on my child passport expiring April 2019 and I can renew his passport in the month of March 2019?

What visa category are you applying for??

No you do not have to renew the childs passport before applying for a visa extension. Visas are NOT stamped into passports anymore, you get a BRP card.
