Dependent of Tier 2 (General to ILR, job changed)

Post by ludovic » Sat Sep 15, 2018 4:34 pm

Hello There,

2015 Sept, I came to the UK with Tier 2 dependent Visa of my wife (Tier 2 General);

2018 April, my wife changed her visa to ILR (5 years residence);

2018 July, my wife changed her employer;

My current Tier 2 dependent is provided by my wife's previous employer.

Am I eligible to extend my Tier 2 dependent visa? (It may require previous employer's letter.)

Or shall I apply for Family member visa?

If my company provide me a Tier 2 general visa, shall I wait for another 5 years to apply for ILR?

Thank you very much.

No it wasn't. Your Tier 2 Dependent visa was based on your spouse and not provided by your spouse's sponsor.
Am I eligible to extend my Tier 2 dependent visa? (It may require previous employer's letter.)
Yes, it is a 3 year extension. Nothing required from the previous employer.
Or shall I apply for Family member visa?
Your choice but this will reset your clock to zero and a new 5 year period for ILR.
If my company provide me a Tier 2 general visa, shall I wait for another 5 years to apply for ILR?
Yes, you will have to wait.

Just extend your current visa, it is not complicated and the rules allow it.
