Change of employment

Post by Cannydoit » Fri Sep 21, 2018 7:48 pm

Hi, i am currently on a tier 2 visa, and have recently found a new job. My new employer told me they are still waiting for clearance from home office to sponsor me. I searched online and found something like my current employer has to cancel or withdraw my sponsorship before the new employer can assign a CoS to me. Is that true?

No not true.

When your new employer is licensed and has issued a UCoS, you apply for your new visa. When you get it your current visa will be canceled. When you leave your current employer, they inform HO with 10 days of your last day that you have left.

Do not resign till you have your new visa approved.

Thank you.

If my new employer has ran out of unrestricted CoS and has to apply for one, how long will it normally takes?

My current employer already know I’m leaving.

It doesn't take long and they can ask for a priority one.

You must apply for a new visa before your current one expires though.

Thank you very much!

If you don’t mind me asking one more question. My new job is under 2219 Health professionals not elsewhere classified. My new employer did a DBS check on me but did not tell me to prepare criminal records from my home country. I came to the UK since 2015, does that mean I’m exempted from that?

Thanks in advance.
