Bringing Parents to UK

Post by lak8788 » Mon Sep 24, 2018 10:35 am

Hello,

Please advice me on this.

Me and my brothers live in the UK. Me and my eldest brother are in PR VISA and my second brother is in dependent/spouse VISA. Both our parents live back in our home country by themselves. We would like them to come and live with us. Obviously they won't be residing in the UK. They will be going back home probably once or twice a year to check up on their properties and other duties. Instead of getting the 6 months visiting VISA every time is there any other way for them to come here and stay with us? I've heard that because all of their children live in the UK there is a VISA under the human rights category that they can apply. Is this true? Also I've read some where that there is are Visiting VISA for 2 years and 5 years. What are the conditions for this visas?

Thanks

Adult Dependent Relative visa is the hardest visa to get and the most expensive. The rules were tightened substantially in July 2012 and it is now almost impossible to get this visa. Only a very small number of people have been successful and only after lengthy (years) in the appeal system.

If you apply and they are refused, it will also shut the door to any future visitor visas as their intention to settle with be known.

The UK does not support chain migration.

They still cannot 'live/reside' in the UK. They cannot spend more time in the UK than they do in their home country per 12 month period. So no more than 180 days at a time. If the IO at the airport suspect they are trying to circumvent the rules, their visa might get cancelled (rare but it does happen).
