As she applied before her current visa expires, her existing visa conditions continue and she is allowed to continue working under Section3C of the immigration rules.
Her employer can use the checking service, if she has an HO reference number, and HO will confirm directly with the employer on her right to work.

Might be worthwhile showing this document to her employer and also they need to be mindful of a potential unfair dismissal case if they terminate her work for this ILR application reason only.
Thanks. The numbers supplied to my wife's employers have enabled them (as we speak) to start to fill out the online "Employer Checking Service".
