Spouse Visa Cat A Cat B Issue

Post by Zundy » Wed Oct 03, 2018 10:16 am

Up until recently my wife and I were both in work at over 22k for >6 months which put us in cat A (we're applying in Jan) however I was surprised with redundancy this week which will mean my income evidence will drop into Cat B.

My wife and I are now concerned because I (the sponsor) am cat B but she is still cat A. Do we have to now apply as cat B just because I'm now cat B? Can we just apply for cat A but leave my details off? All the literature on this operates on the assumption that the sponsor is paying the lion's share so is no help at all in this case.

Any help would be much appreciated as we're understandably massively concerned. This is the ILR stage as well to top it off!

Whoever's is in employment with same employer from 6 months and earning the required threshold should preferably show its income alone under category A.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
