ILR Holders Spouse dependent visa english requirement

Post by namaste_india » Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:35 pm

Hello,

I am an ILR holder in the UK and I am going to apply for spouse dependent visa in Nov 2018. My spouse is still in India. I am confused about the english language requirement for visa. I am aware that my spouse can give IELTS Life Skills A1 or get her degree authorised by NARIC. But the question is if my spouse appears for IELTS ACADEMIC will that be accepted for spouse visa application as english language requirement?

The reason for the above question is because my spouse is planning to study M.Sc. after coming to UK, so we are assuming that if we apply for IELTS ACADEMIC then it should serve for both spouse visa application and university application.

So can anyone confirm if IELTS ACADEMIC will be accepted for spouse visa application ? or we need to compulsorily give IELTS LIFE SKILLS A1 for Spouse visa ?

Thanks

Spouse needs A1 life skills for a spouse visa.

Can anyone also answer my following questions regarding spouse visa application from INDIA.

- Is FLR(M) the correct application form for spouse visa application ?

- Are there any threads on this forum which can be helpful for preparing the application ?

- My Employer provides E-Payslips, so the printout of those payslips will that be accepted ?

- Will I need to provide a letter from my Employer ? If YES then is there a template for that letter?

- Is there a PREMIUM (One day) service available for spouse visa application from INDIA ?

Thanks in advance.

1. No. Flr M is for applications WITHIN the UK. You need VAF4A and Appendix 2 for an application from India.

2. No general threads. Ask your questions in this topic which is your topic.

3. They need to be stamped and signed by employer.

4. Yes. No template. It needs to state your employment details etc.

5. No there is not. You only have standard or priority options. Both can take longer than 60 days.

Thanks for answering my questions @CR001.

My spouse is planning to come to the UK in Feb or Mar 2019 (As currently timelines suggest 2-3 months processing time). I am currently living in UK renting a room in a shared house.

- So in order to submit the spouse visa application in Nov 2018 would I need to rent a place before visa application (For Me and my spouse) in order to get the contract ?

- If the answer for above question is YES, then would the rental agreement need to be under my and my spouse's name on it?

Any suggestion in this area would be helpful. Thanks

Rental can be on your name but you need to show you have enough space for the wife if other people are living in the same house too
