Applying for ILR after entry with EEA Family Permit

Post by kar_cis » Thu Oct 04, 2018 1:04 pm

Hello, I would just like to make an inquiry to see when I can apply for ILR. I arrived to the UK 4 years ago (9 AUG 2014) on an EEA Family Permit. I divorced here in the UK and later met my current husband here in the UK and remarried in Italy. I went to Italy to get married and apply for an EEA family Permit for the second time 2 years ago. Everything went well, my EEA FP was granted and I returned to the UK(7 NOV 2016) . I have always lived in the UK but I am unsure if the 5 year lapse to apply for ILR started counting from the first time I entered the UK on the 1st Family Permit or the second one. Also, my husband is currently applying to become a British Citizen so I really am wondering what is the quickest way to achieve citizenship under my circumstances.

below a timeline

ARRIVED TO THE UK: EEA FAMILY PERMIT (9 AUG 2014)
DIVORCE DECREE DATE: (30 AUG 2016)
LEFT UK: (05 SEP 2016)
REMARRIED IN ITALY: 08 OCT 2016
ARRIVED TO THE UK: EEA FAMILY 07 NOV 2016

Thanks!

Topic moved to the correct sub forum.

You cannot apply for ILR under the UK immigration rules as you don't hold a qualifying visa.

Can't I apply for Permanent Residency or ILR after 5 years of living in the UK?

and then apply for British Citizenship?

PR is under the eea EU rules, which is what you are on. PR costs £65.

ILR is under the UK immigration route, which you are not on. ILR costs £2,389.

Thry are different rules, requirements and processes.

If I were to pursue the Permanent Resident Card would it start counting from the time I entered the UK with my first EEA FP of the second one?

Thanks for all your help.
