Tier 2 Visa refused - PLEASE HELP

Post by duvetdiva » Fri Oct 05, 2018 10:22 pm

Hi guys.

I applied for Tier 2 general on 10 september 2018. I got a refusal EMAIL on the 27 september. my current visa expires on the 31st oct 2018. My employer and I have decided to reapply, I have all the documents ready, however i am just waiting on my passport to come back to me. According to the gov.uk website, it can take up to 10 working days for documents to be returned. If it is not returned, I can fill in a 'documents not returned' form which will take up to 10 working days to be processed. By then my visa would've expired. I am panicking because i do not have a lot of time left. Im not even sure if UKVI is holding my passport or they have mailed it back to me.

Can I reapply without my passport, and put in the reference number together with a statement that UKVI has my passport?

Please please help a girl all on her own here :(

What was the reason for refusal?

You can reapply, assuming you address the points of refusal, and write a covering letter that HO already has your passport.

my reason for refusal was the classic appropriate salary not met reason. however it was a mistake on my employers part that he did not check that there has been an increase in appropriate salary for my job since last year. he has issued me a new CoS with the correct amount (only £200 differnce).

Thank you so so much for your response. Do I attach this covering letter onto my application? Im also unsure if I need to resend my documents ie academic transcript.

Resend everything as you are making a new application. Attach the letter regarding your passport and reference your previous refused application and state you have not received your passport back as yet.

How do i know if they posted my passport back to me? Just to clarify, lets say i apply on Monday and send my documents with the letter off to Home Office. If i receive my passport back do i just send it back to Home Office with my current application reference number?

Sorry for all the questions..
