Same day visa dates

Can someone tell me how to get earlier dates for same day visa appointment. My wife's visa is expiring on 11th Nov and trying to get a date but not getting anything till 17th Nov. Is there a way to get earlier dates? or do I need to approach an agent for this? Also I tried changing location without any success. If I keep checking for few days is there an opportunity to get some dates due to cancellation etc?

Slots are generally released onto the system around mid-night, but if you are unable to secure the appointment you want, you will have to submit a postal application.
