Wife PBS Dependent extension

Hi

I am currently on ILR and it's validity is till 2024

My wife TIER 2 dependent visa is expiring on 13 dec 2018 and was issued from april 2017 (so it's like 1 year and 8 months), there are two visa route option upto 3 years or over 3 years

In order to qualify for ILR, my wife needs 3 years and 4 months visa so let's say if i select over 3 years option, IHS is charging me 1000 pounds

If i pay 1000 pounds, will she get 5 years extension ?

she just require 3 years and 4 months visa, will IHS refund some amount later on?

I am thinking instead of getting 3 years extension now which will make 4 years and 8 months then she would need another extension again and then i have to pay Visa application fees (£640 along with IHS fees for a year) which will be 840, instead if i pay for additional two years now which will be 400 better than 840.

You cannot apply for 5 years. The immigration rules state that a PBS dependent visa extension will be granted for 3 years if the main PBS migrant holds ILR.

Suggest apply by post as close as possible to her current visa expiry date to buy some time.

oh is it

I wish they would have allowed 5 years extension

so if they grant 3 years visa then my wife stay in uk will be 4 years and 8 months, she would need another extension to qualify for ILR on 5 years route PBS dependent. do i have to pay again for 3 years in second extension? ( she would just need 4 months visa to qualify for ILR)

Yes. Which I why I suggested to apply for the extension as close to her visa expiry date as possible and to apply by post to try buy some time.

I have spoken to home office and they said if you had 3 years or less COS then your wife will get 3 years if it was 5 years then you will get three years visa extension

so basically in the end i have to re apply for further three months extension and had to pay three years more health charges along with visa fees just to get her three more years extension

Hi All,

Another query regarding maintenance

As explained earlier i have got ILR and i am applying for my wife PBS TIER 2 partner dependent extension

My wife has an account but she hasn't maintained 630 for last 3 months but i have got my statement which will fulfill this requirement, can i give my statement instead of my wife?

Can anyone of you please confirm
