British Citizenship application - Relevant Period

Post by MSPolska » Mon Oct 08, 2018 2:35 pm

Hi,

I am filling out my citizenship form.
In the checklist of my documents it says to provide the below (in yellow).
I wouldn't like to make a mistake of not including the relevant document.

So here is my question. Will my passport suffice for this point if it was only issued earlier in the year, or shall I also include my old passport just to be clear?

Proof of living in the UK for Applicanant
If you are an EEA National, you need to include letters from employers, educational establishments, or other Government Departments indicating your presence in the United Kingdom during the relevant period.

If you are an Non-EEA National, you need to include your passport to prove you have lived in the UK for the past 5 years (3 years if you are married to, or the partner of, a British citizen).

If you do not have your passport, or it was not stamped when you entered the UK, you need to include letters (for example, from your employer or government department) as proof.

Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you have been living in the UK.

Your passport has to be included as it's proof of identity (but not proof of residency).

If you are an Non-EEA National, you need to include your passport to prove you have lived in the UK for the past 5 years (3 years if you are married to, or the partner of, a British citizen).

That means you need to submit your previous passport if it has any stamps when you were in and out of the UK

AN Form - Proof of living in the UK

Post by MSPolska » Mon Oct 08, 2018 4:19 pm

I need help in respect to what documents to provide in respect of my 'Proof of living in the UK'

My checklist says:

If you are an EEA National, you need to include letters from employers, educational establishments, or other Government Departments indicating your presence in the United Kingdom during the relevant period.

So if applying say on the 1st November I need to show that I was living in the UK between 01/11/2015 and 1/11/2018. Thing is I was a stay at home mum until July 2016, so I don't have any employment record for that period and the checklist says bank statements and utility bills are not sufficient evidence.

What else can I provide to Home Office to proved I have actually lived in the UK before July 2016.
