Any restrictions of work in T2G

Hi,

Any advise would be helpful.

My wife has got the T2G visa from an employer and she is in UK now. Now the situation is client/work she was supposed to start has been postponed for 2 months. My question is can she take up a contract role for 2 months.

No she cannot. Contracting on Tier 2 is not permitted and is a breach of the visa conditions.

She is only permitted to work for her employer/sponsor on their payroll.

I hope they are a legitimate sponsor and not a third party where she has to find her own jobs/clients.

So why can't her employment start then with her sponsor??

Presumably her cos had a start date?? Has this been updated in the sms system now to defer employment by two months?

What is her job title and SOC?

As her employer she had while on ICT dependent visa sponsored her, why is there now no work? Would this have been the case had she not switched visas?

Thanks CR001 for the advise. She would be in the sponsor payroll and they will pay the salary also. It was question out of curiosity from our side about the work limitations/part time job.

My advice stands. She cannot contract or work for another employer on tier 2 General.
