getting an update on application

Post by tier2genmisery » Wed Oct 10, 2018 1:37 am

Hi

Does anyone know how to get an application status update from the Home Office? (before the 6 months is over)
It has become clear to us that a good majority of our post have been misdelivered to neighbours through their letterboxes. There is currently no way to check if letters from the Home Office (if there was any) got misdelivered too. So I need to ask HO whether they actually sent anything yet...

Thanks

There's no dedicated facility to get updates on your application, certainly not before the end of six months. You can try and write, quoting your reference number. The call centre is just that, they give general information but do not have access to your case or case workers.

Yes - I am aware of that but isn't there some sort of FOI request process that can help me get an answer?

FOI may be an option - I believe someone here did that and got a reply "not yet assigned to case worker" - but not sure.

wouldn't submitting an FOI request slow down the processing of the naturalisation application?

Google????
https://www.gov.uk/make-a-freedom-of-in ... oi-request

You won't get told where your application stage is or any update, especially as you only seemed to have applied 2 months ago.

Also, please start your own topic with your questions instead of tagging onto other members' threads.

pretty funny update

just a few hours after I emailed HO with my FOI request
royal mail brought a huge pile of misdelivered and undelivered letters with my letter of acceptance in them

:D

Congratulations!! This also had eased my mind more. I am also on the same situation as yours when I applied on 5th August 2018 while my ILR issue date is 5th August 2017.

Still have not received my good news yet but your info and alot of peoples comments had put my mind more at ease. Thanks for sharing! 😊👏👏👏
