Wife's spousal visa crisis

Post by Vikinglord73 » Wed Oct 10, 2018 10:49 am

Hello all
Just wanting some advice on our situation. I'm a British born male and my wife is from Texas USA. We are on the spousal visa route and were due to apply for our leave to remain in December 2019. I'm a stonemason of 30 years and up till now we've met all visa financial requirements with ease. Unfortunately in July this year I sustained a back injury which means I haven't worked since then and have had to sign onto universal credit. I'm nearly 100%sure I won't be able to return to stonemasonry and at this point am unsure of what job I'm able to do I was looking for advice on where this leaves us as a family. We have 1 20 month old daughter that was born here and has dual nationality.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Chris

Thanks for the reply. My wife worked before she had our daughter and then took maternity leave and never went back to work as my income was sufficient for all of us.
