UKVI Spouse Visa Awaiting response

Post by Faisal312 » Fri Oct 12, 2018 12:57 pm

Hi,

I am having an issue with my spouse application from Pakistan.

The case was submitted on 04/06/18 (biometrics where done) and I was expecting a response by 24/08/18 (3 months).

But I received an email stating (before the 3 months’ time span was over);

THE PROCESSING OF THIS APPLICATION HAS NOT BEEN STRAIGHTFORWARD. WE ARE CONTINUING TO WORK ON THE APPLICATION AND WILL MAKE A DECISION AS SOON AS WE ARE ABLE TO. WITH NO TIME SCALE.

So I contact the UKVI clearance team charged me £1.47 per min and escalated the case on the 31/08/18 (which means they have to reply back within 15 working days). I then got the same email stating that the case ‘is not straightforward’!

As the 15 days of the escalation passed with no response I contacted them again on the 24/09/18 and they ‘re-escalated’ it and the 15 working days are over today with NO RESPONSE whatsoever from Home Office!

I don’t understand as to why they are taking such a long time to process my application, I have discussed this with my solicitor and he confirms that my file if 100% correct and up to the Home Office standards, but they are taking far too long to respond!!

All I need is like a definite answer as to what is taking long so I could step in and provide the ‘missing information’ (if any)!

I have now spent over £150 calling them every 2 days, but they are having me waiting!

I have paid the full fee (non-priority) but is has now been 94 working days without a response!!

I am so angry with HomeOffice right now!

HI Zimba,

Im concerned as to why is it taking soo long! My brother submitted his application a week after mine and he got a response in 2 months. So I dont get why mine is taking soo long!

Do you know what it could be?
Why has it gone past the customer service targets?

HO tends not meet the official timeframes. Every application is separate so they have their own timeframes. Unfortunately you cannot expedite the process

It is impossible to say how long it will take or get any decent response from HO. It is unfortunate and I feel for you but you hardly have any options.

The customer service target is exactly that - a target. It is not a guaranteed time and by sending you a complex case email, they have removed your case from their standard application timelines anyway.
My comments are in no way meant to be advisory. I have no professional knowledge of immigration. These are based on my own experience, convictions and personal interpretation of publicly available information.

What category of spouse visa have you applied for exactly as you have posted in the Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa sub forum??

What is your UK immigration status?

9/3/2018 all fees paid and online application sent

14/3/2018 biometric done and hard copy of application with biometric overnighted to UK

19/3/2018 online application received at home office

21/5/2018 received “not straightforward “ email from home office

Attorney has contacted home office and was told we need to “wait”

Local MP contacted home office and told it would be done in 2 weeks, that was 3 months ago.

I’m beginning to think they only have one person assigned to do all the paperwork :(
