Ceremony Invitation Letter

Post by ootum04 » Fri Oct 12, 2018 3:00 pm

Hi guys,

Pls help!!! I applied for my naturalisation on 17th August 2018, did everything else! Today on 12th October, I received a letter from Ealing council congratulating on my successful application & giving me a date of my ceremony!!! Now My question is:

1)- how do they know if my application is successful when I have not received any approval letter from HO saying that my application has been successful.

2)- why I haven’t received the approved letter from HO yet????

Pls help

1. HO informed as your certificate gets sent to them

2. Maybe still on its way in the post. It gets sent 2nd class mail in an A5 brown envelope. Looks a bit like junk mail, so be careful.

Not just yet, once you've become a british citizen which is after you've have attended the ceremony.. do not send it now as your are still not a british citizen until you attended the ceremony and presented with a certificate..

Thank you so much 🙏🙏

Just a last last question! Can I travel for two weeks on holiday before my ceremony date!! I use NCS to apply so I still have my passport & Resident permit card with me! It won’t be an issue on entering UK.

Many thanks

Congratulations on your approval to become British citizen.

Your current status still entitles you to enter the UK without immigration control, I see no reason why you cannot travel if your ceremony date is after your return date.

As someone earlier stated, you are officially a British citizen after you must have attended the citizenship ceremony an obtained your citizenship certificate.
