Obtained spouse visa 14 years ago

Post by lalasmilehappy » Mon Oct 15, 2018 12:18 pm

Hi all

I have obtained a spouse visa in 2004 and landed UK at that time. We had no kids at that time.

However, as my husband had a job opportunity and therefore we both left UK to Hong Kong in 2006.

We are now planning to relocate back to UK next year. Kids are UK citizens so they do not need a visa.

I wonder whether I will have any problem as this will be my 2nd time to apply spouse visa.

May I know anyone had or heard the same experience? Many thanks!

No. If you meet more strict requirements now for a spouse visa, then there should be no issue in getting one. It is now a 5 year route to ILR/PR, 2 x 2.5 year visas.

The rules have changed a lot since 2004. Best read up on the mandatory English and Financial requirements and the Immigration Health surcharge etc.

Current cost is £1,523 plus the £600 immigration health surcharge. This is for the first 2.5 year visa.
