Student to fiancee visa--Tenancy agreement exceeds right to rent?

Post by j_gao » Thu Oct 18, 2018 2:24 pm

Hi everyone,

I am on a student visa that expires in November. After the completion of my degree I moved in with my fiance and signed a tenancy agreement with him. The tenancy agreement is effective until June next year.

However I just found out that I shouldn't have the right to rent after November. I do plan to leave the UK and apply for a fiancee visa from my home country before my student visa expires. I don't think the estate agency is supposed to allow me to sign that contract. I don't know if I should submit this tenancy agreement with my application as proof of accommodation. I shouldn't be renting anything while I can't legally stay in the UK right (although border record will show I left the UK in time)? Is it worth the trouble to ask the agency to amend the tenancy agreement? Or will it be fine to submit it?

Thanks a lot if anyone can help!

Just ask for landlord NOC letter allowing you to stay subject to your visa approval which will surely work.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
