Fiancé visa and bringing a child as a dependant

Post by Richuk » Wed Oct 17, 2018 1:33 pm

I'm looking for some advice about including my fiances daughter on her fiance visa.

Ive spent many many hours preparing and reading all the information i could find on applying for the fiancee visa unfortunately until now I've not discovered this website. we have collected together piles of documents to support the application. I thought all bases were covered and every stone upturned until now.

my fiancee is planing to bring her 2 year old daughter with her and we have included her daughter on the application form as a dependant child. After information previously found I've been expecting to pay double everything as it is 2 of them that are coming to the UK. I've completed the application form, booked the date to visit the TLS contact centre in Kiev and paid the fee on the UK visa and immigration site (which was 1797 euros). I've gone to the TLS contact site and registered there BUT when i started to enter the applicants details on the TLS site my worry has begun.
I've entered my fiance's details including her GWF number and it also states on the site "Children on parent's passport should be individually filled in this group" (her daughter has her own passport). So i entered her daughters details on the site too using the same GWF number but then it says "An application has already been registered with the same GWF number / Application Reference Number.".

Do any of you know if ive made a serious mistake in this process? If her daughter needs some kind of separate visa? or if in fact i don't need to enter her daughters details on the TLS site? my brain is in overdrive right now thinking I've missed some crucial part of this process. Appendix 2 has been filled out to include the fact that the 2 of them would be coming to the UK. The application form includes the 2 of them but I've not seen any other option to state that the application is for 2 individuals.

Any light that you can throw on this subject would be very gratefully received right now

I've been doing a lot of digging/research and I have come up with this.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... -or-parent

As my OH will be on a "fiance visa" and this is limited to 6 months with restrictions i take this to mean "limited leave" and meaning these rules would apply to our situation. She does have sole custody of her daughter with court documents to prove such. there are no close relatives that could look after her daughter in ukraine.

The point that is confusing me now is "(b) the applicant must have made a valid application for entry clearance as a child;"
I take this to mean that we do need to make a separate application for her daughter but i can't work out which category of visa to apply for. On the UK Visa and Immigration website it gives me these options:

Reason for visit: Settlement (i presume)
Visa type: Settlement (i presume)
Visa sub type: Child or other dependant of a settled person? (i dont think so as im not her parent)
Family Reunion- other dependant relative? (i dont think so because it seems to be for refugees)
Parent, grandparent and other dependant relative? (not sure but looks like my only option)

If anyone has some knowledge or input on this id love to hear it. Many thanks

Can't answer your specific question, however, you need to pay visa and IHS for each applicant.

Also where is the childs other parent?

Settlement/settlement/child would be correct. You are her sponsor even though you are not her biological parent.

Hi and thanks for the reply CR001

Her other parent is a Moroccan national and is back in Morocco as far as we know.

Since my original post we have been advised that we have taken a very difficult route to bring my future wife and her daughter here to the UK. It seems highly unlikely that we would get entry clearance for her daughter and as so we have decided to go a different route and get married in Ukraine first.

I will start a new post and ask questions relevant to our new route.

Thanks for the advice on this original matter

Bringing my future wife and her daughter to the UK

Post by Richuk » Fri Oct 19, 2018 2:13 am

Hello All

My Fiance and I are planning to get married shortly in Ukraine and i'm looking for some advice on the best place to look for supporting documents and exactly which visas we would need to gain entry clearance for my wife to be and her 2 year old daughter.

Maybe i should begin with a little of the back story and say we were looking at getting the "fiance visa" and bringing her daughter with her, then getting married here in the UK. We have recently discovered that this can be a very complicated route to take so have decided to marry in Ukraine instead.

So as we have already gone all the way through to applying for her "fiance visa" we have gathered a lot of supporting documents together. I'm presuming the list of documents would be similar for the "wife visa"?

A big problem we had with the "fiance visa" was that we didn't realise until late that we would require a separate visa for her daughter. I presume this also means that we would apply for a separate visa for her daughter now but how does it work with all the supporting documents and applying for 2 visas at the same time? Would we need 2 copies of all original documents or are the 2 visas linked somehow and the same set of documents used as evidence for both?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer

Hi again

I just have a couple of questions about the spouse visa application process. If you could help me out it would be very much appreciated.

After we are married in Ukraine we will be applying for the spouse visa and her 2 year old daughter will be coming to the UK too.

1. Does her daughter get included on the same application form as a dependant child and the same pile of supporting documents are used for my wife and her daughter?

or

2. does her daughter need a separate application form and a separate pile of supporting documents?

I ask because if we do infact need 2 piles of documents do i need to include original documents in both my wife and her daughters application?
