Hello all,
I would very much appreciate your thought and suggestion on this please.
My wife and daughter recently applied for a settlement visa from our country which was approved in July 2018.
However, all our supporting documents sent in support of their visa application were not returned to us until I got my Local MP involve in the matter, the documents were later returned to us on September 10th 2018.
On receiving the supporting documents from UKVI, I noticed our original marriage certificate was missing from the documents and only the photocopy of our marriage certificate was included in the documents we received back from UKVI.
I wrote to UKVI immediately and even got my Local MP involve again that our original marriage certificate wasn't included in the supporting documents we received back from the UKVI and only the photocopy of our marriage certificate was included in the document.
I've now received a response from UKVI this week stating that they've sent back everything we sent to them in support of our application, this is not true and completely unacceptable from UKVI as clearly they've misplaced our original marriage certificate and sent us a photocopy instead.
I'm not sure if there's anything else you believe I could do at this stage to hold them to account as this is the only copy we've been issued by the issuing authority in our country and we've been warned to keep it safe and not misplace it as there's no replacement copy.
I wonder how they were able to approve their visa application without seeing the original marriage certificate as they've claimed in their letter to us this week.
I would greatly appreciate your thought on this on what you think I should do at this stage.
Thank you.
