Tier 4 dependent status when main applicant changes to Tier 2

Hello all,

I recently got my Tier 2 visa ( successful application in the UK) after switching from a student Tier 4 visa. My wife is a dependent on my Tier 4 student visa (she is in the UK), but I couldn't apply for her to switch to Tier 2 dependent as part of my application as the main applicant. This is probably a straightforward issue, but I just needed a confirmation: does my wife now have to switch her visa from tier 4 dependent to tier 2 dependent? And if so, will she be able to apply in the UK?

You don't state when her visa expires
