tier 2 working visa - 20 hours/week limit

Post by griftah81 » Fri Oct 26, 2018 7:27 pm

Hello everybody, I have a question regarding the Tier 2 working Visa. It is about the limit of 20 hours per week on your second job.

This is the scenario, I am working in a nursing home for 4 years. Then I applied for a second job in the NHS hospital. Before i start working in the hospital. I will have to undergo a mandatory classroom/lecture training for 1 week.

The NHS has paid me 30 hours for attending the classroom lecture. I havent pick up a single shift since then. Or i Havent started working yet for the NHS-hospital in the ward. Can this be a red flag?? will this affect my application for ILR?

You are not permitted to work more than 20 hours at all and it must be in the same profession and SOC as your main job.

i havent started working for them yet,, but i attended a classroom lecture orientation/training for 1 week and got paid 30 hours, is that considered a work already? Im really worried about it.

If you got paid, then yes it is considered 'work'.

How did you manage to do a week's training while working for your main employer??

You do realise that you cannot do secondary work etc while on annual leave from your main tier 2 sponsor.

Secondary must be outside of your main job hours.
