Applying for ILR

Post by redmanc84 » Mon Oct 29, 2018 9:52 pm

Hi guys, I'm back here as my wife is finally completing her 5 year spouse route in December...I have a quick query..

She entered on 20/12/2013

she got FLR on 7/10/16 and her latest BRP expires on 5/5/19

I can see from other posts that we can apply from the 22/11/18 (which is 28 days before the end of the 5 year period....but do we have to apply before 20/12/18? Can we wait until closer to the expiry of the BRP???

Thanks

Can we wait until closer to the expiry of the BRP??? Yes, if you choose to do so.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

That would be like 5 years and 5 months from Entry....so thats still OK??

I guess the time delay between applying for FLR 2 and a half years ago and getting it approved has extended the total allowed time in the UK??

you would think they give a BRP 30 months from when you applied, not from when the approve it...

Thanks

There is no rule that ILR must be applied for at exactly the 5 year or shortly before mark.
