Switching from Tier 2 to ILR after 5.8 years, what about dependant?

Post by alisattar09 » Thu Nov 01, 2018 4:12 pm

Hello please, can any of the experienced members please reply to my few queries below, a simple answer will be enough for me. Appreciate in advance

Que 1: I have made the ILR application online on 31st October 2018 with my appointment on 15th November 2018. Although My Tier2 (General) visa started from 20 March 2013 which makes it 5 years 8 months approx on Tier(2). The expiry date of my Tier(2) General is 20 March 2019, will I be asked by the case officer as to why I delayed my ILR application?? or should I mention it in my Cover letter?? Will it have any impact on the application???

Que 2: I got married this year and brought my wife into the UK in August 2018 and her PBS dependant visa is also expiring on 20 March 2019. Should I apply for her ILR - DEPENDANT equivalent with me? or can I extend her PBS dependant in March 2019 for the next three years even if I resign from my COS sponsoring employer?

A quick response will be much appreciated as I have the appointment in 2 weeks

1. HO don't care when you apply as long as it is not too early. No letter required. You are over thinking.

2. You can extend her PBS dependent visa for a further 3 years. No need to change visa categories.
