Working tax credit/ parental visa

Post by Smithybabe21 » Mon Feb 18, 2019 3:16 pm

Hi all I couldn’t see any other topics that answer my question so hoping someone can advise me correctly.
I’m a british citizen who works and claims working tax credits my partner had just been granted his visa due to parental rights “for our daughter” he also now works but what I’m wondering is we would love to move in together For us all to be a family but would claiming working tax credits affect his visa as it stated no public funds but not sure whether working tax would affect this? Any help is really appreciated :?

Tax credits must be claimed in JOINT names with your partner if living together.

Presumably your partner got FLR(FP) Parent route due to NOT being in a relationship with the childs other parent???

Or what is the immigration history etc of your partner??

Yes he has got the flr(fp) which he was granted when we was separated! But have rekindled and would love to be together as a family but just worried it would affect him if we did?

Is he aware that for an extension on FLR(FP) Parent route, he needs to prove the same as initially and if his circumstances are different, he has to apply in a different category.

He will likely also have to inform HO of his change in circumstances.

No issue claiming tax credits jointly, as this is how a couple should claim and HO will check so will be aware.
