ILR timeperiod from visa date or marriage date ?

Hi there,

My wife is EU national and we got married in Dec 2014 and we were in a relationship from Jan 2014 but visa came after a long time in MARCH 2016 so I was wondering if I can apply for ILR from the marriage date or even now. I was speaking to one of the solicitors and he said my wife has to apply for settled status or ILR before 2021 according to new Brexit rule anyway so if we both apply for ILR after March 2019 we both have good chances of getting ILR.

any ideas ?

If you got married in the UK, your time for PR or settled status starts from date of marriage.
