Biometric residence permit waiting

Hi there,

Currently waiting on my husbands decision from immigration for his spousal visa extension. We sent off the postal application 5 weeks ago this coming Monday. He did his biometric residence permit at a post office 6 weeks ago. Can this come before we receive a decision from HMRC?

Very worried as we are booked to go away in 6 weeks time (which would be 10 weeks from when the application was received, although received no confirmation email/letter) but I'm thinking we should cancel the flight just in case?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is incredibly stressful!

Postal applications can take up to 8 weeks, sometimes a bit longer.

Is it a letter or email that notifies us? Haven't even had confirmation that our application has been received so feel like I'm completely blind as to what's going on and I know I can't ring as it hasn't been 8 weeks yet.
