Relationship Status Advise

Post by nazariyv » Wed Mar 13, 2019 8:09 pm

Hi everyone,

My first post here, let me know if I need to change anything. As the topic title says it is about the relationship status. I think none of the below options apply to me:

Single
Married or a civil partner
Unmarried partner
Divorced or civil partnership dissolved
Separated
Widowed or a surviving civil partner

The reason is, I have a girlfriend but she is in Poland. I fly to see her once every month. We have been dating for about a year and a half (but do not live together). The closest option is unmarried partner. But I read the Google definition of this:

What is an Unmarried Partner Relationship? According to the Immigration Rules and the EEA regulations, the term unmarried partner relationship is be defined as: "Two persons living together in a relationship akin to marriage for at least two years

According to this, I should go for a single option.

When reading gov's definition on the application website, it says:

'Single' means that you have never been married or in a civil partnership, and that you do not currently consider yourself in a relationship.

'Unmarried partnership' means that you currently consider yourself in a relationship but are not married or in a civil partnership.

According to this, I am not single. Moreover, in my personal information section where I list where I went outside of the UK and for how long, I list that I go to see my girlfriend like every month. What option am I supposed to go for here? I still think it should be single from the legal standpoint.

If I pick an unmarried partner option, they ask for a bunch of documents that I do not have, because I am not living with my girlfriend.

Thanks for your help

the 10-year route. And it is OK that I mention that I fly to her in the Personal Information section where I have to list the dates when I left and came back to the UK?

Your 10 year route is not based on your relationship status. As Casa said, if you are not married or living with your gf, you are single. It will have no impact on your ILR.

ILR, 10 year route, Convictions and other penalties

Post by nazariyv » Wed Mar 13, 2019 10:16 pm

I have forgotten to update my records with OVRO on three occasions... Does this count as a penalty? I have said yes on my application to this:

At any time have you ever had any of the following, in the UK or in another country?
A criminal conviction
A penalty for a driving offence, for example disqualification for speeding or no motor insurance
An arrest or charge for which you are currently on, or awaiting trial
A caution, warning, reprimand or other penalty
A civil court judgment against you, for example for non payment of debt, bankruptcy proceedings or anti-social behaviour
A civil penalty issued under UK immigration law

Because it is effectively a warning. And in comments mentioned that I am very sorry for this and would do it right if I could do it again. Have I answered that question correctly? Would this impede the ILR application, I am worried that it will.

They also ask for a date, I inputted a random date, because I really do not recall when this happened.

Failure to update OVRO does NOT fit into in that question. :!:

Oh this front-end is so confusing. @Zimba, are you saying that OVRO does not relate to that question on the application (I initially thought that you meant that my question should not be in this topic).?

Set (LR) appointment Apr 2, travel Apr 26

Post by nazariyv » Wed Mar 20, 2019 9:04 pm

Hi,

The soonest that I can attend my biometrics by the looks of it is Apr 2. Is it worth applying after I have come back from the holiday (Sometime in May, before 15th)? I have paid for the super priority service. It said that I can apply before May 15th.

Thanks!

You cannot leave the UK after you have submitted your application as long as I know otherwise your application may be withdrawn.

But super premium service claims a decision for next working day. In which case, the BRP should be on time. Is it safer to apply after I have come from the holiday?

The date of application is the date you paid and submitted your online application. You have already applied regardless of when you attend the biometrics appointment.

Actually, there is one for this Saturday for 100 GBP. That should definitely give me enough time to get the new BRP

Its best to pay and get your visa sorted. You can only travel after.
