Hello

Currently doing some research for the UK family/spouse visa. Are Australian Marriages recognised in the UK?

I read the gov.uk guidance, and we would be following the correct process to get married in Australia, and it also meets the requirements under UK law (ie over 16 years old, not already married, and not related).

Is there anything else I should be aware of for the marriage to be recognised in the UK? Perhaps I’m being overly pedantic, but I would rather double check.

You have to be 18 in the UK to marry and sponsor a spouse visa NOT 16.

Yes, overthinking a bit. If a marriage is legally conducted in a foreign country, it is accepted.
