ILR Continuous Period Calculation & Eligibility

I am currently on Tier 2 visa, i just want to understand calculation of continuous period which is confusing while reading some post on this website. My visa was granted on 2nd of April 2015 but i arrived on 20th May 2015. I got my visa extend for another 2 year last year which is valid till 19th April 2020. I just want to understand will i be eligible for the ILR next year since i haven't been in UK for 5 year or is the continuous period calculated from the day the visa is granted. Also can i apply extension of tier 2 visa for another year. Will appreciate replies.
