My wife is shortly to apply for a 2 years visitor visa from outside the EEA/EU. To visit myself, who lives in the UK. She has already received a 6 months visitor visa and a spouse visa, which she did not use. Instead, she needs to stay with her family and friends in her home country.
My questions for this 2 years visitor visa. The UKVI want documents from me (as her UK sponsor) to show that I have the money to support her for her visits to the UK. And that there is somewhere for her to stay. I have not yet made a complete list of documents that I need to supply.
In any event, do these supporting documents from myself (her sponsor) have to be the original documents, and not just copies? Do they have to be stamped and signed by a bank official or a local solicitor for example to show they are genuine and legal? And how old do these supporting documents have to be (eg only a month old) to be acceptable?
Thanks.
