Registering son as British Citizen later and travel to India using current Biometric card, allowed?

Post by viralmehta1 » Sat Aug 10, 2019 7:49 pm

Hi,

I and my family (wife and daughter) have recently received ILR. While applying for ILR, I had mentioned in covering about my UK born son's registration as British Citizen after I receive ILR. My son is 2 years old.

His current Biometric is expiring in July 2020 and we are due to visit India for some religious event in Dec 2019. Due to required visit to India in Dec 2019 and processing time (max. 6 months) required for his British Citizen registration, I did not apply for my son's British Citizenship yet and will apply once we come back from India i.e. in January 2020.

Is he still allowed to travel with his existing Biometric card which is expiring in July 2020 while I have Biometric card of ILR expiring in 2024?

I am little confused hence asking this question.

Your reply here would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks
V

Child's visa remains valid as you appear to have got ilr based on PBS route and not long residence. Fine to travel.
