Tier 2 PBS Dependant application question

Post by malvar » Wed Aug 14, 2019 2:13 pm

Hi quick question on my application as a Tier 2 PBS Dependant.

Visa Situation:
First Tier 2 General visa was granted 23 Dec 2014
Current Tier 2 General PBS Dependant visa runs until 29 Oct 2019.
ILR Eligibility is on 23 Dec 2019.

Spouse situation:
Spouse was granted ILR last 02 Nov 2018 after 5 years of Tier 2 General visa.

Presently I have decided to apply for an extension of my PBS Dependant visa this August 28 since I've got travel planned in Sep and Oct. Then when 23 Dec 2019 rolls around,I apply for ILR. I'm in the process of collecting required documents (bank statements, utilities etc).

Question is I can apply for the PBS Dependant extension this August 28 right? There's no 'qualifying' period for the visa application such as you can only apply 28 days before visa expiry of 29 Oct 2019?

Thanks a lot! This board has been very helpful.

You can apply for a PBS Dependent extension at any point. It is a 3 year extension and IHS of £1200 must be paid plus the visa fee of £704.

You also need to meet the 90 days maintenance funds of £630 requirement with bank statements.

Thanks for the quick reply CR001.

I'm just aware that I'm paying for 3 years worth of IHS when I only have barely 2 mos left for ILR.

When did you switch fom T2 General to T2 General Dependent?
I was told that ILR clock resets when you switch status from T2 General to T2 Gen Dependent or viceversa. I am pretty sure when you switch from T2 Gen dependant to T2 Gen the ILR clock resets.

I do not think you will be eligible for ILR in Dec 2019. But lets wait to hear from experienced moderators.

It is a typo by the OP. They have not switched categories. Useful to read previous topics by members.

Yeah as CR001 said. It was a typo on my end. I meant Tier2 General PBS Dependant from 2014 up until 2019.
