Proof of residence for non-EEA

Post by vaiss » Thu Sep 12, 2019 6:04 am

Hi,

I am applying for BC (spouse of EEA national), and need to prove UK residence for the past 5 years. The guidance (I think) says I only need to show my passport with entry and exit stamps. The stamps do show my arrival in UK six years ago, but for two (short) holidays overseas there are only stamps for entering the other countries. There are no stamps for when I returned into the UK each time. I hold a BRP, and did show this when I entered UK after these holidays, so that may be why they didn't stamp entry in my passport?

Should I be concerned about this? Should I just give them my passport or do you think I should try and show additional proof of residence? (I have worked part-time on and off over the past 6 years so don't have a lot of official work/hmrc docs, but I do have council tax bills for the past 6 years in my name - should I submit those perhaps?)

Thanks kindly,
V

The guidance also says that EU citizens and EEA family members need to submit extra documents, ie P60s, council tax etc. But not bank statements and utility bills.
