Fiancé Visa- Overtime in Salaried employment?

Post by pink789 » Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:14 pm

Hello Everyone,

Could someone kindly offer some guidance to me. We are planning to send the fiancé visa application this December so that my fiancé can join me in the UK and we can get married here.

I started work back in July and I am in salaried employment. My salary is £19,696.00 per anuum. My gross pay per month on my payslips is £1,641 which I understand meets the financial requirement for the spouse visa as it is above £1,550. However, I took 2 days off work back in July as I was ill and because of that they deducted £151.50 from my gross pay in August. So my August payslip shows my gross salary to be £1,489 which is below the requirement. Since I will be applying under category A salaried, I believe the case worker will take the lowest gross pay which would be the August pay of £1,489 and x by 12 which would not meet the financial requirement.

Can I do overtime and then use my overtime payment to make up the lost amount? I don't think using overtime should be a problem since my gross salary per month is above the requirement anyway and I just need to make up for August.

Other option would be to wait until February 2020 when I will have 6 payslips showing gross pay of £1,641 to apply for the spouse visa. However, since my company deduct pay from my gross salary for sick days then it will still be risky as there is no guarantee I won't be sick in the next 6 months and will have 6 payslips all showing £1,641 without any deductions.

If anyone can please shed some light on this. Thank You.
