FLR(M) renewal and Child benefit

Post by willian » Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:11 am

Dear All,
I'm back here again. Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who gave advice towards my first FLR(M) application. Anyways, lots of things have happened since my first application and I'll be renewing my visa in approximately 5 months. So, my wife, who is British, recently had a baby and is planning to claim child benefits for him. Since I have no recourse to public funds and my name will be in the application form as her partner, will this affect my application?

No, since your wife and the child are entitled to those benefits.
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.

No issue if claimed only her (british sponsor) name.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
