Applying for UK tier 2 general visa

Post by Tieruser » Thu Aug 22, 2019 5:49 pm

Hi Experts,

I'm currently living in Malaysia from last 1.5 years and i'm an Indian citizen.
I'm applying for Tier 2 general visa from UK.gov website first thing i noticed, there is lot of difference between the application which was filled by my friend in Nov-2018 and the current one.
There is a field to enter the Address and it is not clearly mentioned whether it is permanent or current, please let me know which address should i give?

we have to enter our previous travel for past 10 years, do we need to mention the travel details in accordance with my residence country(Malaysia) like traveled to Singapore for tourism on MAy-2018 and traveled to India for home visit on JUN-2019 etc?

Tier2 general eligibility

Post by Tieruser » Fri Nov 01, 2019 11:37 pm

Hi,
I recently came to UK on tier 2 visa and it has 5 years validity.
Cos assigned to me has start and end dates from 22-jul-2019 to 21-jul-2024
But actually I started working on 20-oct-2019 so now in my visa they have given validity till Aug-2024 which is 2 months short may be based on cos. Now since I will be 2 months short of 5 years will I be eligible for ILR ?

What is the date the visa is valid from in your passport? This could be different from a date of approval.

How did you enter the UK to start work on the 20th October when your visa was only valid from 25th October?

Your qualifying period for ilr starts from the date your visa was issued, 25th October and you can apply no sooner than within 28 days before 25th October 2024. As the rules stand now.

You would likely need an extension.

No one can say what the rule changes might be in 2024.
