Hi,
New to this, unsure if I'm writing in the right place about this.
I just wanted a bit of advice.
My partner is an Asylum Seeker, who has limited leave to remain, with NO recourse to public funds.
We have applied for social housing, we do have children together, my children and myself (mother) are British-born.
So with the application process for the house, we have been told the application has to be assessed by a 'persons from abroad' team in order for us to bid on properties (but not much more information was given about this assessment or the possible outcomes), I am worried about the possibility of him not being able to live with me and it splitting our family up?
This is what I'm assuming if it's being assessed and him having no recourse to public funding, obviously private rental isn't a long-term solution for us as a family.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience regarding social housing and could advise on what happens or other options.
Thanks in advance and kind regards.
