Tier 2 ICT Main applicant --> Tier 2 General Dependent --> Tier 2 General Main Applicant

Post by abhiyash » Wed Jan 01, 2020 1:55 pm

Hi, I switched my visa from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General Dependent in June ‘19. Now, one company is ready to sponsor me Tier 2 General visa.

Do I have to wait till June ‘20 (1-year cooling period) to get this new visa or can I switch from T2G Dependent to T2G Main applicant now itself without any cooling period?

Please clarify.

Yes, you need 12 months on dependent visa, which is the cooling off period, unless offered a salary of £159,600pa or more.

No. You also cannot 'switch' to Tier 2 G (switching is a term for changing visa category within the UK). You have to apply for a new entry clearance visa from your home country.
