Hello everybody,
I need help. My spouse visa is about to expire and I have applied for my ILR online. I have done my BRP appointment last week.
I have got a weekend part-time job, when I went to work last weekend I have been told I can't work any longer due to my visa to be expired in two weeks. After explaining to the manager that I applied for my ILR, he said he needs to see the renewal visa.
Is this legal? And when will I get my confirmation letter from the Home Office?
Please,help

This could amount to discrimination. You have section 3C leave if you made an in time application, this means your right to work continues. Your Employer, should use the
Employer Checking Service (click) to confirm your right to work.

Thank you for your response. I have tried to use the link above, however it asks for reference number of ongoing application which I can't find it anywhere.
Where do you think I can find it?
Thank you

Show your employer the official UKVI Section 3C document.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... d-3d-leave
Purpose of leave extended by section 3C Immigration Act 1971
The purpose of section 3C leave is to prevent a person who makes an in-time
application to extend their leave from becoming an overstayer while they are
awaiting a decision on that application and while any appeal or administrative review
they are entitled to is pending.
When section 3C applies
This section explains when a person’s leave is extended by section 3C of the
Immigration Act 1971.
Pending decision on application
A person will have section 3C leave if:
• they have limited leave to enter or remain in the UK
• they apply to the Secretary of State for variation of that leave
• the application for variation is made before the leave expires
• the leave expires without the application for variation having been decided
• the application for variation is neither decided nor withdrawn

When you applied for your extension, the Unique Reference number is located at the top of your Checklist document.

Thank so much for your a quick replies.
One more question, when do you think I am going to get the acknowledgement letter from the Home Office? How would I know if they have received my documents and application?
Many thanks.

Ho don't send out acknowledgment letters. You received an email when you applied online and that is all you get now.
