Confusing question MN1 form

My wife and I have received our ILR and now filling out the forms for our baby who is born in the UK.

My son has British birth certificate, can you please advise if we need to obtain our country’s passport for him before applying for his British citizenship?

Thanks for your prompt response. In the document section is asking:

“If Mr Xxx has a passport then provide this with your application. If Mr Xxxx does not have a passport then you must provide another officially-issued identity document. This could include an official travel document or national identity card.”

My son doesn’t have any of the above, can you please advise what document besides the above mentioned can be submitted?

Is birth certificate identity card? As it doesn’t have picture and you cannot travel with it!!

You are overthinking. A UK born child does not need a photo of or passport to register, you only need their UK issued long birth certificate. The checklist is generic as the same form is used for all children registrations, not just UK born.

What should I write for the following question:

“ Have you lived at your current address for 5 years?”

My baby is 6 months old! If I say no it asks for previous address!! if I say yes, he has been living for the past 6 months!

I submitted my son’s application and paid the application fee and I booked an appointment with UKVCAS in three weeks time. However, received an email from HO “Thank you for your application to the Home Office. Your application has been received and is being considered”
