Availability of Changing Employer Under Tier 2 as New Entrant

Post by Samh_Alshahed » Mon Jun 22, 2020 11:58 pm

I have graduated with a master degree from a UK university in September 2019. Then I have applied for a Tier 2 visa as New Entrant (with a salary of 27,500) by switching from Tier 4 (my age was 25). I have got the decision in December 2019 for three years valid until 07/02/2023 (the Job is in the shortage occupation list).

Following the coronavirus pandemic at the beginning of 2020, my employer couldn't afford my salary. I got another offer from a sponsor company as a graduate (knowing that the new Job still in the shortage occupation list). I am now looking to apply for a new tier 2 visa as I am changing to a different employer within 6 months from the first tier 2 visa.

Am I still able to apply for a new tier 2 visa as a New Entrant (although I reached 26 in April 2020), where I still have 2 years and 5 months for the first T2 to expire?

I hope my situation has been described clearly, if not please feel free to ask for more details or better explanation.

Thank you

My understanding is that you need the experienced rate in the SOC as you are already on a tier 2 and only changing employers.
