Email: ILR documents sent and Sopra UKVCAS (urgent query)

Post by Kumar2020 » Mon Jun 01, 2020 8:14 am

Hello everyone,

I have recently received email from home office regarding my ILR visa application, they have asked me to send my documents attaching to the email, I did send all documents but haven't received any acknowledgement from then, and this morning I observed that Sopra website is getting ready to open their appointment service and I am confused whether to wait from home office acknowledgement or book Spora appointment.

Can you please suggest me.

Thank you.

The caseworkers are trying to get the work started on your case in the meantime. You will NOT get an acknowledgement. UKVCAS will let you know when to book an appointment to submit your Biometrics. A decision comes only after you attend the appointment

Thank you very much Zimba.
Any rough idea about timelines ? They did mention in email that the process may takes more than 6 months, I am not sure if that's a general message or uf they don't want to promise you the time lines, or certain information.

Thank you in advance.

The timeframe for ILR under standard processing is up to 6 months. This may now be longer for some applicants

ILR- documents sent through email, Sopra uploading again?

Post by Kumar2020 » Sat Jul 11, 2020 11:08 am

Hi Guys,

I hope all are safe and doing well.
I have booked an appointment with Sopra for biometry recently but haven't uploaded my documents yet, I have already sent documents in email to home office and so do I need to again upload these documents on Sopra? If so, bank statement I uploaded on email was old one and do I need a recent new bank statement to upload along with other documents on Sopra? Any other things to be considered in terms of documents?
Please suggest.

Since you are going to attend the biometrics appointment - the sole purpose of that is to provide your biometrics and verify your documents so that can be sent through to UKVI.
The documents sent via email is a very new thing. Note UKVCAS staff has no knowledge about immigration related issues. They might even not be aware of the documents email process which is new.

If I was you and given a chance to attend biometrics appointment I would make sure my documents are submitted through the proper channel also.
Why not? If you are getting a chance to attend UKVCAS in my opinion you should.
