Question on Naturalization for British Citizenship

Post by viralmehta1 » Wed Aug 12, 2020 8:01 am

Hi,

I have filled online for my British Citizenship Naturalization as I have completed 1 year after getting ILR. In one of the fields, it is asking When did you first arrive in the UK?

Though I came to UK in July 2014 when I was granted Tier 2 General Visa, I had visited UK before 2014 (2-3 times) and that was based on Business Visa. So could you please advise which date I need to enter in this field?

is it July 2014 (based on Tier 2 General Visa) OR May 2010 (based on my Business Visa)? I am confused because of this question. So please help.

Also there is a question regarding trips outside of the UK. I believe this questions only valid for a candidate granted with Tier 2 General Visa and then ILR. Could you please confirm?

Your early help on this would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks
Viral

1. July 2014.

2. The absence is relevant to the 5 years immediately preceding the date of application for citizenship.

Moving to new house and change address while applied for British Citizenship Naturalisation

Post by viralmehta1 » Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:48 pm

Hi,

I have submitted my and my family's Naturalisation application few days back and paid for the application. I am now waiting for my appointment at UKVCAS.

Now, we are looking to buy a new house and move to new house in next 2-3 months. While we are waiting for my appointment, naturalisation and Ceremony for British Citizenship, if we move to new house and change the address, how can we update UKVCAS or Gov.uk to update address so that we can the naturalisation letter and any relevant documents on new address?

Are there any process of doing this?

Please advise.

Your early help on this would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks
V

I would also consider Royal Mail Redirection service and establish a contact with the new tenants at your old address (if possible) for any official post sent there.

Also, note you have chosen a council to attend your ceremony, changing the council may take longer if required.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

So I can update address on the link and also send any correspondence to new address from Old address by informing Royal mail?

Can I keep the same council as written in the form so that I dont have to wait for the wait for the change process of council for ceremony? Please advise.

Thanks
