Final checks for FLR-M

Post by olosh » Sun Aug 16, 2020 3:37 pm

Hi, I am about to submit my wifes FLR-M. She is from bangladesh and I am a british citizen. We have been married 15 years and we have a 12 year old daughter who is also a UK citizen. We have been able to find enough correspondence to fulfil the address confirmation and we have no problem with the income requirement or the english test. We have a joint account, letter confirming mortgage in both names, letter from estate agent confirming the house is big enough etc etc. As far as I can see our application is solid and complete as we have all the documents sugegsted per the guidance on the FLR-M. Is there anything additional which we might consider submitting which is not mentioned in the guidence ?

One small thing I am concerned about is that the guidence says that the employer's letter should state the starting salary AS WELL as the current salary. That was not required last time so we did not ask our employers to put that information on the letter. But we were both able to find our original job offer letters and contracts of employment which both state the starting salary, so hopefully that should not be an issue.

Thanks !

The correct terminology is "cohabitation evidences" which should be 6 in number if joint named or 12 if in sole name from at least 3 sources covering the last 2 years with even gaps of 3-4 months. Any letter from any credible source can be used for this purpose.

Apart of other key information the employer letter must state the recent annual wages as well as the previous annual wages (if the increment happened very recently). Previous job offer letters & contracts won't be accepted because of an inexcusable rule where that should not be older than 28 days.

Thanks Seagull.

We both requested letters from our employers confirming our salaries, job titles, start dates etc as usual but I did not notice that the new guidance reqiores starting salary as well as current salary. In both our cases starting salary is actually the same as current....no payrises in covid-land. Anyway, we will both request new letters on your advice. The starting salary IS stated in the contracts and the offer letters (and of course in the payslips) but yes as you say, they are all older documents.

Also whoever is earning sufficiently can use his/her income & associating documents alone to keep the paper work bit lighter.
