ILR Dependent Vignette Transfer **COVID-19**

Post by pranithh » Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:59 pm

Hi Admin,

I am an ILR holder and had applied for the ILR dependent visa for my wife, before covid-19 restrictions had begun, i.e in March 2020. She has been granted with the 90-day visa now, which is due to finish in October and in 2 weeks from now. We have sent out an email request to 'CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk' for an extension to the Vignette printed on her Passport. As she cannot make it to UK before the due date due to medical reasons. We have made this request on 08/09/2020 and received an auto-response on 17/09/2020 stating that the response will be sent as soon as advice can be provided. But still there is no response yet. when I called the helpline number mentioned in the below link; i was informed to wait for the email response.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus ... s#helpline

We are worried now as her vignette is due to expire in 2 weeks.

Could you kindly provide an advice on what could be the next steps or a way to find out the status.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Contact the UK consulate/embassy to ask for the procedures, as you need to get a new vignette

Hi Zimba,

Thank you for your reply.

1. Could you kindly give me the details to contact the embassy or point me in the right direction, either with a link or phone number please.
2. another quick question; Does she still need to apply for vignette transfer if she enters UK just before the due date? ex: if the due date is 21st OCT and she enters on 20th OCT?

Thank you for the response in advance.

She can enter the UK at any date within the 90 days, including the dates you mentioned.

1. Use Google
2. No she can enter until expiry. She needs to be issued a new vignette if the current one expires (vignette transfer means something else)
