Unmarried Partner on Fiance Visa

Post by Birky » Mon Nov 02, 2020 6:47 pm

Hello, me and my fiancee just finished our application and did biometrics last week. With our application submitted I started looking at possible timelines for completion and came across people saying they failed their application purely because they selected unmarried partner on their application. After looking at our application again, we had done the same thing. Although it is only once on the application at the beginning, everywhere else on our application we have put our relationship as fiance. Is there any truth about this failing the application? There was no fiance option at the beginning and no advice on what unmarried partner is so I just presumed it was better than putting single which is a bit contradictory to having a fiance.

We comfortably meet all the requirements of the application otherwise and have provided all evidence needed. It's really confused and panicked me because I cannot change anything now.

If through no fault of your the option of fiance is not there it means you can not select that option then. For others in the past then it could have led to it being appealed but yet to read such.
Such single failings and where further down the line the option aligning your status is appropriately chosen should not end up you getting penalised or refused.

If you weren't prompted to pay the IHS then definitely you were on right track.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

I apologise if this counts as tacking onto another's post and if so please delete.

However I am in the same boat and was wondering if you got the visa?
