question - applying for neutralisation after getting refugee IRL

Post by M91 » Thu Nov 18, 2021 2:52 pm

Hi,

I'm looking for some help if anyone can guide me the right way, I have received my IRL through refugee settlement last October and I want to apply for the citizenship after waiting 12 months of the issue date on the BRP.

recently i have read on the website that i dont need to wait 12 months as my partner of 7 years is British however the government website only states you can apply as soon as you get your IRL if your Married or in a civil partnership which I'm neither of those.

any help or guidance appreciated :)

You can only apply without waiting 12 months if you are married to a British citizen.

If you are an unmarried partner, you have to wait 12 months on ILR first.
