Health care visa dependents

Post by bijuben » Thu Feb 03, 2022 10:42 am

Hello. I am a doctor and am currently in UK on a Tier 2 (General) visa which is valid to 31/12/2024. But now that there is a new Health care visa category, is it mandatory to shift to this visa BEFORE expiry of my current visa? I am not changing jobs or anything else.
The reason I'am asking this is because while applying for a dependent visa for my wife and child now, there is a question which asks "Does the Doctor know that he is eligible for a Health care Visa"
I know I'am eligible, but why should I convert my existing visa which is still valid for another 2 years. I called up Home Office for an opinion and they were very vague about it.

You do NOT have to switch. It isn't mandatory.
